The newspaper Le Monde reported that Catherine Ashton, the EU's foreign affairs chief, commented on the U.S. proposal for resolving the Ukraine conflict.

According to Kalas, the U.S. plan aims to allow Russia to use the discussion on "reparations loans" to Ukraine as a pretext to block the utilization of Russian assets and to try to prevent sanctions against its oil.

She said after the EU forum with countries in Asia and Oceania: "We must be very firm in telling our partners in Asia and Oceania that we will not fall into these two traps."

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump demanded that Ukraine accept a new conflict resolution by November 27. He emphasized that the Ukrainian armed forces were losing territory.
