Baku begins arresting Wagner private military company veterans returning to Azerbaijan

Amid tensions between Russia and Azerbaijan, Baku has decided to closely examine every Azerbaijani citizen who stood on Russia's side in the special military operation.
The Sabail District Court of Baku has decided to arrest two Azerbaijani citizens - Ramil Aliyev (born in 1991) and Ismayil Hasanov (born in 1974) for four months.
This compulsory measure was implemented in a criminal case investigated by the Azerbaijani State Security Service. According to the court's official statement, the suspects committed a series of crimes both within and outside of Azerbaijan.
Documents submitted to the court show that Aliyev and Hasanov were personally selected by the head of the Wagner private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, to participate in combat operations in exchange for monetary compensation and to avoid imprisonment.
According to the investigation information, the suspects participated in military training and combat operations in several countries, during which they used firearms and explosives.
