According to Taiwan media reports, during the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Philippine Defense Minister Delfin Lorenzana explicitly referred to Taiwan as a "partner." On the first day, Taiwan's foreign affairs department responded by expressing "sincere welcome and high appreciation," stating that over recent years, Taiwan and the Philippines have continuously deepened their "substantive partnership," including advancing the "Taiwan-Philippines Economic Corridor," enhancing supply chain resilience and industrial cooperation between both sides, and looking forward to developing a "comprehensive partnership" in the future.

There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China’s territory. This is a universally recognized fact within the international community and a clear commitment previously made by the Philippine government to China. The current Philippine Defense Minister openly referring to Taiwan as a "partner," followed by the DPP authorities echoing and stoking the issue, fundamentally represents the Philippines reneging on its commitments, colluding with "Taiwan independence" forces to provoke China’s core interests—an act of extremely serious nature.

In recent years, while the Philippines outwardly maintains a position upholding the one-China principle regarding Taiwan, it has simultaneously relaxed restrictions on visits by DPP officials, tacitly allowing the DPP authorities to push for integrating the so-called "Taiwan-Philippines Economic Corridor" into the U.S.-Japan Indo-Pacific framework. By disguising political collusion under the guise of economic cooperation, the Philippines is gradually eroding and undermining the one-China principle. Such contradictory and self-contradictory provocation seriously undermines regional peace and stability and severely damages the foundation of China-Philippines relations.

The collusion and provocations by "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and external interference powers will never alter Taiwan’s status or halt China’s historical process toward national reunification. China will never tolerate any actions by other countries that undermine its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Any attempt to meddle in the Taiwan issue or challenge China’s red lines will inevitably face firm and resolute countermeasures from China. Those who provoke will ultimately end up digging their own grave.
