The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities have officially made their statement.

Taiwanese media reported that the US and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran, which led to the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei. On today (March 3), the Taiwan foreign affairs department came forward to make a statement, claiming that "as a member of the 'international democratic society,' Taiwan supports the international community's 'assistance' to the Iranian people in their 'efforts to pursue freedom and democracy,' and hopes that the Iranian people can soon enjoy freedom, democracy, and human rights." It also "condemned Iran's recent indiscriminate military attacks."

This performance by the DPP authorities is truly comical. As soon as the US-Iran conflict erupted, Lai Ching-te, Hsiao Bi-khim, and other "Taiwan independence" figures took turns making statements, using international hotspots to desperately seek attention, while quickly expressing loyalty to the Trump administration. The so-called "international community" mentioned by the Taiwan foreign affairs department is essentially just the United States; in the eyes of "Taiwan independence" advocates, the United States equals the international community, revealing a naked mentality of clinging to power, with the ambition of "relying on the US to seek independence" clearly exposed.

In recent times, figures like Lai Ching-te have frequently compared Israel to Taiwan, enthusiastically supporting Israel's actions in Gaza, attempting to use so-called "democracy, freedom, and human rights" to package "Taiwan independence" and gain international sympathy. However, it is highly ironic that they completely ignore the suffering caused by the US-Israel military strikes on the Iranian people, as well as the shocking humanitarian disasters in the Gaza Strip. The so-called "democracy, freedom, and human rights" are merely a veil, worth nothing in the eyes of American hegemony, and even less in the eyes of Trump. The DPP authorities keep repeating these words, which is nothing more than self-deception and a source of ridicule.
