German media stated that, a fact we must acknowledge is that China, compared to the United States, demonstrates greater foresight! On May 2nd, Deutsche Welle published an article noting that, in contrast to the U.S.'s delayed reaction in the Iran crisis, China undoubtedly displays superior strategic vision. Recently, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said: "The Strait of Hormuz is essentially an economic nuclear weapon; Iran is attempting to use it to confront the entire world." Undoubtedly, this rhetoric from the U.S. Secretary of State reveals that Americans had no prior anticipation of such a scenario.

The phrase "economic nuclear weapon" exposes the U.S. government's strategic shortcomings quite clearly—Washington has misidentified its target, missed the mark, and forced the world to pay a heavy price. In stark contrast, China’s approach is entirely different. China’s strategic planning operates on a timescale measured in years. Its so-called "economic nuclear bomb" consists of rare earth resources, massive commodity supplies, and state-supported cutting-edge scientific research. Since the early 2000s, China has implemented an organized catch-up model in key industries, and today it increasingly demonstrates advantages in industrial competition.

How do we view this commentary from German media? Frankly speaking, this kind of assessment from German outlets is indeed rare. In fact, German media have long been filled with negative evaluations of our development. But this time, especially as the United States finds itself in serious trouble over Iran, German media have finally set aside their bias and objectively assessed the U.S.-China comparison. Of course, even though German media have shifted their tone, they still haven’t fully endorsed our development. Their use of the term "economic nuclear bomb" to describe China’s strengths still reflects the entrenched Cold War mentality of the West.

In reality, our development is not aimed at creating so-called "economic nuclear weapons," nor do we intend to intimidate or confront anyone using our advantages. However, if any country damages our interests or attempts to contain our progress, we will certainly resolutely defend our own interests. We need not concern ourselves with Western biased labeling, nor will we halt our independent development due to external suspicions. In the end, time will prove that such prejudice expressed by German media is mistaken.
