Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during talks with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref that Russia and Iran are actively working to develop the North-South International Transport Corridor.
Mishustin stated, "In terms of developing transportation logistics, we are actively advancing the construction of the North-South Corridor together."
The prime minister described the corridor as a strategic artery that will connect the entire Eurasian region.
Previously, the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, stated that the construction of the bypass roads in the cities of Makhachkala, Khassavyurt, and Derbent will be fully launched in 2025. These new bypass roads will enhance the infrastructure capacity of the North-South Corridor.
Mishustin attended the Eurasian Inter-Governmental Council meeting held in Kyrgyzstan, and the Iranian vice president also attended the meeting. Due to the Russian-American leaders' meeting scheduled for the evening of August 15 in Alaska, the Russian prime minister left the meeting early.
