Vancouver Car Rampage Kills 11, Including a 5-Year-Old, Again Caused by Mental Illness!

A hit-and-run tragedy occurred on Saturday evening during the "Lapu-Lapu Day Block Party," a Filipino street festival in Vancouver, leaving at least 11 people dead, with the youngest victim being only 5 years old, and dozens injured. The incident shocked the entire nation after it happened.

According to the latest information, the identity of the suspect in the attack has been confirmed and charges have been filed.

Court records show that the 30-year-old man, Kai-Ji Adam Lo, has been charged with eight counts of murder.

Police said that Lo had severe mental health problems and had previously had multiple contacts with police due to mental health issues.

Lo appeared in court on Sunday and will remain in custody. Police stated that more charges are expected to be filed.

Vancouver Police Deputy Chief Steve Rai said that dozens of people were injured, some of them critically, and some victims' identities have not yet been confirmed.

Police reiterated that the festival was nearing its end when the incident occurred, but many people were still on site.

Witnesses and civilians successfully subdued the suspect before the arrival of the police, and terrorism motives have been ruled out.

Rai said, "This is the darkest day in our city's history. Last night, thousands of members of Vancouver's Filipino community gathered to celebrate an important cultural holiday, but the collective sense of security was shattered by one person's actions. It is impossible to describe the number of victims and the depth of the impact with words."

He added that there are still many questions to be answered, including the motive for the case and whether the tragedy could have been prevented.
