The "Hindala" hacking group stole 19,000 classified documents from the phone of Israel's former Chief of Staff Hailevi
A hacking group linked to Iran claimed that it had obtained at least 19,000 sensitive files by hacking the personal smartphone of Israel's former Chief of Staff Herzog Halevi. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have also confirmed that the group successfully infiltrated Halevi’s personal phone and stolen at least 19,000 sensitive documents.
In a statement posted on its official website on Thursday, the "Hindala" hacking team claimed it had conducted a cyberattack on Halevi for several years, acquiring "over 19,000 confidential images and videos from top-secret meetings." The group stated: "All of Israel’s most secret facilities, crisis command centers, operational maps, and even the tiniest details of command hubs are now as transparent to us as an open book. This may be one of the most severe cybersecurity breaches ever suffered by Israel’s high-level security agencies."
Halevi, who stepped down as Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces in March 2025, previously led Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip for 17 months, during which he oversaw a genocide campaign.
