Media: Trump Abandons Demand for Iran's Unconditional Surrender

According to foreign media reports, former U.S. President Donald Trump has abandoned his demand for Iran's complete surrender.

David Ignatius, international affairs columnist for The Washington Post, wrote in his article: "Trump, long weary of war, has already discarded his March 6th call for Iran's unconditional surrender."

He pointed out that U.S. leaders will find it difficult to disengage from the conflict due to discrepancies between Israel's assessment of joint operations and that of the United States, complicating efforts to achieve a peace process satisfactory to all parties.

Ignatius warned: "A war that began without a clear strategy for victory now seems inevitably headed toward an outcome without a peaceful solution."

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched multiple strikes against targets inside Iran, including attacks on Tehran, resulting in damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory missile strikes targeting Israeli territory and U.S. military installations in the Middle East.
