Australian Prime Minister: Australia Has Received 600,000 Barrels of Aviation Fuel from China
According to comprehensive media reports, Australian Prime Minister Albanese stated on the 19th that the country has received three shipments totaling 600,000 barrels of aviation fuel from China—double the nation's total supply.
It is reported that Australia secured China’s approval for this supply following discussions between Albanese and Chinese officials last month on energy security. These three shipments of aviation fuel are expected to arrive in Australia by June, with further supplies potentially to follow.
Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong said at the end of April that the Chinese government has agreed to cooperate with Australian enterprises in transporting aviation fuel.
China is a major exporter of aviation fuel and diesel; last year it supplied one-third of Australia’s aviation fuel needs.
Regarding the fuel supply issue, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson previously stated that due to the situation in the Middle East, the global energy market is facing supply shortages, affecting many countries. To address the problem fundamentally, the key lies in fully preventing the resumption of conflict and promoting a comprehensive, lasting ceasefire, thereby avoiding further regional instability that could severely impact global economic development. China stands ready to maintain communication with all parties and jointly safeguard global energy security and the stability of production and supply chains.
