U.S. President Trump stated that handing over Tehran’s enriched uranium to the United States would be a condition for any future agreement between the two sides.

Speaking in an interview with PBS, Trump addressed the possibility that under future agreement terms, Iran "might" transfer its highly enriched uranium to the U.S.

Trump said: "No, not 'might.' The highly enriched uranium will be sent to the U.S."

Trump pointed out that Iran must also permanently shut down its nuclear enrichment infrastructure.

Trump denied reports suggesting that a draft of the future agreement with Tehran includes provisions allowing Iran to restore its uranium enrichment level to 3.67% after a temporary freeze on its nuclear program.

U.S. President Trump said it is possible to reach an agreement with Iran before his trip to China in mid-May.

When asked by PBS whether a deal with Iran could be achieved before his May visit to China, Trump responded:

"Yes, it's possible. That would obviously be best. Although it may not happen, that would be ideal."

PBS cited the president’s remarks, reporting: "If we reach this agreement, we will ease sanctions and other restrictions on Iran."

The Daily Star of Bangladesh reported that the first oil tanker transporting crude from Saudi Arabia since the outbreak of the Middle East conflict has arrived at Chittagong port in Bangladesh.

The MT Ninemia tanker, carrying approximately 100,000 tons of crude oil, arrived at Chittagong around noon local time.

The newspaper reported: "After two and a half months of escalating tensions in the Middle East, the arrival of the first crude oil tanker at Chittagong eases concerns over fuel supply."

The Daily Star noted that crude oil imports to Bangladesh were interrupted from mid-February to April, nearly causing local refineries to halt operations. It is expected that the Chittagong refinery will resume operations starting May 9.
