Graham: The US stopped Iran from making 10 nuclear bombs

American Republican Senator Lindsay Graham said on the social media platform X that the U.S. "Midnight Hammer" operation launched in June 2025 prevented Iran from producing at least 10 nuclear bombs. Unlike the current "Epic Fury" operation, this time it was not targeting the Iranian regime.

"Through the 'Midnight Hammer' operation, President Donald Trump prevented Iran from obtaining enriched uranium sufficient to make at least 10 nuclear bombs. At that time, Iran was only weeks away from achieving this goal, not years," he said.

Regarding the current military actions against Iran, Graham said that in such a difficult moment, one can see "the will of allies," and praised the UAE's support for the U.S. joint escort plan.

"The UAE understands why the U.S. is striving to keep the Strait of Hormuz open - although only 1% of U.S. oil passes through the strait, they are willing to consider joining the international coalition protecting the strait, which is highly commendable." Graham believes the UAE should be the country that "prioritizes receiving assistance to counter the Iranian threat."

In June 2025, the United States carried out a special operation against Iran. Afterward, U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth stated that the U.S. military conducted precision strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities - Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Hegseth said at the time, "We destroyed Iran's nuclear program, but it should be noted that this operation was not targeting the Iranian military or the Iranian people. This mission had nothing to do with regime change."

Regarding the recent "Epic Fury" strikes against Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said on March 3 that these strikes were necessary, otherwise Iran's nuclear potential would become "uncontrollable" within a few months.

He said that after the attack on Iran's nuclear facilities in June 2025, the Iranian military and experts began building new facilities, including "underground bunkers," which may be used for developing ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons.
