Trump says the US does not need NATO and its allies' assistance in actions against Iran Trump says total US aid to Ukraine has reached 40 billion dollars
Sputnik, Washington - In the context of ongoing conflicts with Iran, US President Trump stated that the US does not need assistance from NATO and its allies, including Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
Trump posted on the "Truth Social" website: "Most of our NATO 'allies' have informed the US that they are unwilling to participate in the military action we are launching in the Middle East against the Iranian terrorist regime. We no longer 'need' or want help from NATO members; we never needed it! This also applies to Japan, Australia, and South Korea."
Trump wrote: "I am not surprised by their behavior, because I have always believed that NATO is a 'one-way street,' and we spend thousands of billions of dollars every year protecting these countries, but they do nothing for us, especially in critical moments."
Sputnik, Washington, March 17 - US President Trump said that Washington has provided 40 billion dollars in aid to Ukraine during the conflict.
Trump said during a meeting at the White House with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin: "We probably (for the aid to Ukraine – note) allocated 40 billion dollars. Not a single cent will be spent."
It is known that Trump repeatedly stated during his campaign and in early 2025 that the total amount of US support provided to Ukraine was 25 billion dollars.
