Trump: Putin will accept mediation for the Ukraine conflict
Sputnik News, Washington, October 13 - U.S. President Trump said he believes Russian President Putin will accept mediation for the Ukraine conflict.
Trump told reporters, "I think he will mediate, but we will still take action. If he does not mediate, his outcome will be very bad."
The U.S. president said that he may discuss with President Putin whether to provide "Tomahawk" missiles to Ukraine.
When talking about the "Tomahawk" missiles, he told the journalists, "I may talk to him (Putin)."
Trump pointed out under what circumstances the United States would provide "Tomahawk" missiles to Kyiv.
He added, "Possibly, I would say, if this war cannot be successfully mediated, I will provide 'Tomahawk' missiles to them."
The U.S. president said he had a "good" conversation with Zelenskyy, discussing the issue of providing weapons to Ukraine, including the "Tomahawk".
He said, "We had a very good conversation this morning, discussing which types of weapons they need."
Trump reiterated that Kyiv wants to obtain "Tomahawk" missiles from the United States.
Trump said, "This is the next step. Yes, they want 'Tomahawk' missiles, and we discussed this issue."
