Taiwan authorities issued a "block order".

Taiwan media reported on December 4, the Taiwan Criminal Investigation Bureau announced that the mainland social platform "Xiaohongshu" has been subject to a so-called "National Security Bureau cybersecurity inspection", and all 15 indicators "failed completely", and will implement a one-year block, which is expected to prevent Taiwanese users from accessing the platform and APP in the near future.

The reason given by the Taiwan authorities is that Xiaohongshu has been involved in 1,706 fraud cases since last year, causing a loss of NT$247.68 million. The block order was issued by the Department of Interior. However, this claim obviously does not hold water and is essentially a political maneuver.

Xiaohongshu has long been popular among young people in Taiwan, becoming an important window for them to understand the real life and social landscape of the mainland, breaking the information cocoon that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities have deliberately constructed. The DPP authorities had previously made repeated threats against Xiaohongshu. Now, implementing a real block, the core is fear that Taiwanese people will come into contact with genuine information from the mainland, exposing the DPP's lies of "de-Sinicization." This behavior of isolating cross-strait exchanges and suppressing information freedom for political interests reveals their extreme panic, and will eventually be met with the disgust and resistance of the Taiwanese people.
