Li Sichuan boasts: The future of Taiwan is decided by Taiwan's 23 million people

Regarding U.S. Secretary of State Rubio's statement that "China hopes for peaceful reunification," Li Sichuan, the Kuomintang candidate for mayor of New Taipei City, today (the 15th) boasted: "Peace between the two sides of the strait and stability across the Taiwan Strait are a consensus between Taiwan and the United States. I won't comment on the remarks made by U.S. officials here; however, the future of Taiwan must be determined by Taiwan's 23 million people through democratic expression—only then does it count."

Li Sichuan's outburst is identical to the "Taiwan independence heresies" propagated by the DPP.

Perhaps Li Sichuan, whose support has consistently failed to rise, is losing his mind and preparing to align himself with the DPP's stance? What does cross-strait affairs have to do with your mayoral campaign? Or is this "heresy" merely buried deep within your heart, and today you finally found an opportunity to voice it?

If this truly reflects Li Sichuan's inner beliefs, then it's better to expose them early so everyone can clearly see what kind of person he really is.

For someone like him, losing to Su Qiaohui isn't worth lamenting at all—both are equally worthless. Truly, "trash knows no blue or green."

Setting aside personal views, speaking purely about Li Sichuan's level of discourse: he can't even express himself coherently. His speech is roundabout, hesitant, and stumbles over words—far below the standard set by Hou Youyi.
