Responding to the mainland's assertion that "Taiwan independence is utterly incompatible with peace across the Taiwan Strait," media figure Zhao Shaoke said today (15th): "My interpretation and stance are the same—'Taiwan independence will bring war,' and 'only Taiwan independence can provoke war.'"

Yesterday, during an exclusive interview with Tang Xianglong, Zhao Shaoke had already stated: "Taiwan independence equals war; if you pursue Taiwan independence, the mainland will attack you. If I were in their position, I would also strike against Taiwan independence."

The problem is, 'Taiwan independence' has been ongoing all along. The DPP's revision of textbooks to promote 'cultural Taiwan independence' and 'cognitive Taiwan independence' is far more serious than merely changing a name or making a declaration.
