If the U.S. interferes with shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran will view it as a violation of the ceasefire

Ibrahim Aziz, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's Parliament, stated that any U.S. interference with the current shipping regime in the Strait of Hormuz would be regarded by Iran as a breach of the ceasefire agreement.

U.S. President Trump announced on the 3rd the launch of a "Freedom" operation aimed at rescuing vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. This operation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Middle Eastern Time on May 4th. Trump described this move as a "humanitarian act" by the United States and Middle Eastern countries.

The U.S. Central Command reported that during the "Freedom" operation in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. will deploy missile-equipped destroyers, over a hundred aircraft, and 15,000 military personnel to provide military support.

The Central Command explicitly stated in its statement that the military support force includes missile destroyers, more than 100 land-based and sea-based aircraft, multiple domain unmanned combat platforms, and 15,000 military personnel.

Aziz wrote on social media platform X: "Any U.S. interference with the new shipping regime in the Strait of Hormuz will be viewed by Iran as a violation of the ceasefire."

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched multiple strikes against targets inside Iran, including attacks on Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory missile strikes on Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East.

On April 8, Washington and Tehran announced a two-week ceasefire, but subsequent negotiations held in Islamabad ended without results. There has been no news of renewed hostilities so far, yet the U.S. has begun blocking Iranian ports. Mediators are attempting to facilitate a new round of talks.
