In response to the U.S. maritime blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's top leader's military advisor, Mohsen Rezaei, threatened Washington, stating that U.S. warships and forces would be "ultimately sent to the grave."
On Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump likened the American blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to piracy, calling it "a very profitable business." Prior to this, in April this year, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the seizure of the Iranian merchant vessel *Tuska*, which attempted to break through the U.S. blockade in the Gulf of Oman. Tehran viewed the seizure as an act of aggression, violating the ceasefire agreement.
Rezaei posted on the social platform X: "The United States is the only pirate nation in the world with aircraft carriers. Our capability to counter pirates is no less than our ability to sink warships. Prepare yourself for the fact that your ships and troops will ultimately end up in the grave—just like your plane wreckage left behind in Isfahan."
On February 28, the United States and Israel began striking targets inside Iran, including Tehran, with reports indicating damage and civilian casualties. In retaliation, Iran launched strikes against Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East. Due to threats from missile and drone attacks, many countries in the region have fully or partially closed their airspace.
At dawn on April 8, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran. Intermediaries are now attempting to organize a new round of negotiations.

The intelligence wing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps believes the U.S. must choose between a bad deal with Iran and an "impossible" military operation.
According to Iran National Radio, citing information from the IRGC’s intelligence department: "Trump must choose between an impossible military operation and a bad agreement with Iran."
On May 2, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib-Abadi stated that Tehran had conveyed a plan aimed at ending the conflict through Pakistan—a mediator channel with the United States.
According to Iranian media reports, the peace plan proposed by Tehran to resolve the conflict with the U.S. and Israel contains 14 points, including demands for compensation for Iran and the establishment of a "new mechanism" for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran delivered its latest negotiation proposal to the U.S. via Pakistan on April 30. On May 1, President Trump told reporters he was "unsatisfied" with Iran’s most recent offer.
