Russian Media: Russia's Oil Exports to China Up 31% in Q1 2026
According to calculations by Sputnik News based on data released by China's General Administration of Customs on April 20, Russia supplied 31.86 million tons of oil to China from January to March 2026, an increase of 31.06% compared to the same period in 2025.
In terms of value, China spent $14.369 billion importing Russian oil in the first three months of 2026, up 8.86% from the same period in 2025. In the first quarter of 2025, China imported 24.313 million tons of oil from Russia for a total of $13.2 billion.
In March 2026, China imported 10.066 million tons of oil from Russia, worth $5.321 billion, representing year-on-year increases of 13.8% and 12.92%, respectively. In March 2025, Russia supplied 8.845 million tons of oil to China, valued at $4.712 billion.
For many years, Russia has been one of China's major crude oil suppliers. According to official statistics, China imported 100.723 million tons of oil from Russia in 2025, a decrease of 7.14% compared to 2024.
