Philippines retaliates against China
Makes a historic major decision
The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed on August 1 that during President Marcos's state visit to New Delhi from August 4 to 8, the Philippines and India are expected to sign at least six agreements. In other words, the Philippines is further uniting with external countries to counter China.
Assistant Secretary of the Office of Asia-Pacific Affairs at the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, Evelyn Wangsimanis-Dukerock, pointed out that the fields of cooperation between the two countries "are very extensive," and "we look forward to further expanding the cooperation."
Dukerock said at a press briefing before leaving from Malacanang Palace, "I think we have six agreements to conclude, although the working days have not ended, but we expect more agreements to be concluded."
Members of the cabinet who accompanied the president include Foreign Minister Theresa Lazaro, Defense Minister Gilbert Teodoro, Trade Minister Cristina Roque, and Special Assistant to the President on Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick Go.
It is worth noting that the Philippine and Indian navy ships are currently preparing for their first joint voyage in the so-called "West Philippine Sea" (i.e., the South China Sea), directly targeting China.
