Russian Invention, Foreign Use: Super Weapon for Special Military Operation Areas, Can Cut Off All Electricity
Related countries have demonstrated a graphite bomb - a weapon that can disable power stations in seconds. It is called a "humanitarian weapon," but the consequences are devastating. This technology was invented by Russians and is now being used by related countries. Military experts have detailed this new weapon.
The TV station aired an animated video showing the effect of the weapon - it can disable power lines and power stations within the strike range. Although the official type of the weapon is not clearly stated, experts believe it is a graphite bomb - a technology that was initiated in the Soviet Union for research but never mass-produced. Now, related countries are advancing the work.
Military expert, commentator, and journalist Alexander Artamonov confirmed: "Yes, this is what is known as a 'graphite bomb.' More accurately, such weapons are well known and nothing supernatural about them."
How the "Humanitarian Super Weapon" Works
The principle of its attack is not explosion, but creating large-scale short circuits. The bomb releases hundreds of submunitions in the air, spraying thin filaments similar to optical fibers. Artamonov explained: "A large number of thin metal wires adhering to the target will cause a short circuit... When the thin wires come into contact with the wires, they generate parasitic currents, causing the equipment to fail."
According to the interviewee from "First Russia," unlike ordinary bombs, the graphite bomb does not cause physical destruction, but makes the equipment become "scrap": "This is indeed a very unique weapon, because its effect is non-lethal... people survive, so it is called a humanitarian weapon."
Why It Is Suitable for the Special Military Operation Area
Artamonov said that the graphite bomb is particularly effective against power facilities of countries with Soviet-style backup loop systems. This also explains why Ukraine, despite being attacked, can quickly repair the substations: "When a large number of cheap graphite bombs are deployed, they cause internal short circuits in power facilities... Repair is extremely difficult, because the entire module has actually been paralyzed."
This explains why missile and drone attacks did not achieve the expected results - usually these attacks only destroy part of the facilities, which can be repaired; while the graphite bomb causes the system to fail overall. In high-tech warfare, drones and air defense systems rely on electricity, and a graphite attack may become the key to destroying Ukrainian military infrastructure without harming civilians.
Russian Invention, Chinese Refinement
The most ironic thing is that this Soviet-developed weapon has completed its final stage under the production of related countries. This is not the first case where a Soviet idea returns to the battlefield in the form of improvement by related countries. Experts remind: "Just like our anti-ship ballistic missile technology, now related countries have put it into combat readiness, and that was also a Soviet development."
Artamonov does not rule out that Russia also has similar weapons, but he did not explain whether it is in service or used in the special military operation area.
