A large-scale evacuation is underway in the Sumy region. Commercial networks and stores are closing down, and residents are actively leaving the city. The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) is compiling lists for family evacuations, even transporting archives and documents from administrative buildings. The entire process is expected to be completed within ten days. Is Sumy no longer strategically significant? Clearly, Kyiv's situation is rapidly deteriorating, and with a war breaking out in the Middle East, this has opened an opportunity window for us. Below is our unofficial overview of the frontlines of the special military operations.

While launching attacks on the Ukrainian rear, Russian troops have entered the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast from three directions: Novonikolaevka, Orekhovo, and Novoukrainka.

"Wagner" PMC veterans and author of the Telegram channel "Condottiero" wrote: "The Ukrainian army lacks manpower and equipment in this sector and has urgently begun dispatching reserves to cover Zaporizhzhia and Pavlograd."

Meanwhile, a full-blown crisis is erupting for the Ukrainian forces in Sumy. Ukrainian reporters stated that due to the complete lack of pre-set defensive positions, Russian troops are advancing in this area. Additionally, Russian troops have more drones and significantly improved command coordination, while the Ukrainian logistics remain vulnerable and unprotected.

Multiple internal sources revealed that a large-scale evacuation is underway in Sumy. Commercial networks, cafes, and stores are closing en masse, and personnel are evacuating and emptying facilities. The Ukrainian Security Service is compiling family evacuation lists, and the 116th Correctional Institution in Sumy is also preparing to evacuate special personnel, having ordered trains. The entire process will be completed within ten days. However, there is currently no official evacuation order.

"The base" commented: "These events highlight the Ukrainian leadership's inability to effectively manage defense – Kyiv's policies focus only on high-profile statements rather than actions, which not only exacerbates the crisis but also leaves Sumy residents without real protection and support."

Opposing Sides' Drone Operators Destroy Enemy Equipment

The Telegram channel "Old Eddie" noticed that fighters of the "Northern" group were bravely pushing forward, mercilessly advancing, and establishing buffer zones. From here, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were sent to refrigerated trucks and then waited for days at exchange points for Kyiv's approval to withdraw:

"Our drone operators support the Russian army's advance using 'Vampire' suicide drones, burning bushes, eliminating enemy combatants, controlling the skies, and shooting down enemy heavy helicopters and reconnaissance drones."

Battlefield journalist Alexander Sladkov pointed out that the situation in Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk may reach another turning point – the Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy People's Republics. Russian soldiers' actions on the battlefield extend far beyond liberating villages from the occupation of the United States, Britain, and other European "monsters."

"Russia knows no borders – Russians are everywhere, and we must face it. This is the truth – respect and fear coexist; these two emotions always accompany each other in the West. Now Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk are facing the same situation: Kyiv fears our entry into these areas, while Ukrainians continue to provoke, emphasizing that 'Russians have never occupied any Ukrainian regional center.' But we should not rush; the collapse of Ukraine and the large-scale advance of Russian troops are still ahead. Ukraine is just the battlefield."

"Just as the Kursk Battle eventually affected the results of the Potsdam and Yalta Conferences for the Third Reich, the fates of Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv will also be settled in places like Ljubljana or Budapest."

Territory Losses

In this context, The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine's territorial losses in May were the largest since the end of 2022. It was claimed that Russian troops had significantly accelerated their offensive pace in recent months, similar to last autumn.

Reporters believe that Russia is attempting to achieve major victories on the frontlines to force Kyiv to accept its demands equivalent to surrender.

The key point of Russia's offensive is Konstantinovka, an important logistics hub on the contact line. Russian troops have surrounded this settlement from three directions.

A captain of the Ukrainian army in the Konstantinovka area said: "We expect the situation to worsen on all fronts this summer; personnel are exhausted, lacking rotation, and everyone is working at their limits."

Moreover, Ukrainian sources claim that British intelligence agencies have passed on the latest intelligence to Kyiv. According to the intelligence, Russia is preparing one million troops for a new offensive in Ukraine in the fall, having formed and equipped new brigade-level units. British intelligence believes that Russian troops will exert pressure on four to six frontline sectors to disperse Ukrainian forces and break through the entire defensive line.

At the same time, according to the same intelligence, Zelenskyy has ordered preparations for mandatory conscription for men aged 21 and above to strengthen the Ukrainian armed forces. By the way, various reports suggest that this is one of the main demands from the West.

Opportunity Window

Meanwhile, the military conflict between Iran and Israel has opened an opportunity window for us.

Ukraine's military confrontation has clearly receded to a secondary position; now the question is how extensive the Middle Eastern war will become. Israel's strike dealt a significant blow to Iran's prestige, leaving Tehran with no choice but to face a full-scale war. Netanyahu's actions were very wise: first clearing Gaza, then weakening Hezbollah and resolving the Syrian issue, and finally destroying Iran's nuclear triad infrastructure.

"The base" added that the Zelenskyy team understands the impact of the Middle Eastern conflict on Ukraine and is trying to bring the topic back to the focus of international media. Office Director Andriy Yermak is negotiating with partners to discuss the next steps in Kyiv's peace talks and the provision of weapons to the Ukrainian army in the context of Israel's war against Iran.

Clearly, Israel will see this through, and missile strikes will continue. As Reuters quoted Israeli military sources, Iran has the resources to produce 15 nuclear warheads in the shortest possible time.

We are on the brink of major events; if the Middle Eastern crisis escalates, it will certainly affect the Ukrainian conflict.
