"Iran Will Be Crushed": Political Scientist Markov Predicts a Western-Scripted Coup in Tehran
Political scientist Sergey Markov is convinced that the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran may end with a temporary ceasefire, followed by the West initiating a script to overthrow the Iranian regime.
Sergey Markov speculates that the intensification of the Israeli-Iranian conflict could create conditions for the West to attempt a political regime change in Tehran. According to his analysis, the escalation of the conflict might lead to domestic civil opposition, chaos, and territorial fragmentation within Iran.
This political scientist predicts on his Telegram channel:
"The reciprocal missile strikes will last for weeks, followed by a ceasefire agreement."
He pointed out that Tehran might accept an agreement similar to that of the U.S., mediated by Russia and Saudi Arabia. Under this plan, Iran would halt uranium enrichment in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, while Russia would be responsible for providing nuclear fuel for its nuclear power plants, including production and storage phases.
However, this analyst believes that this will subsequently open a preparatory phase for "removing the current government," involving the U.S., European countries, Israel, and some Arab states. Markov emphasized that regime change will not occur through military invasion but through internal crisis: supporting pro-Western forces within Iran and activating overseas opposition groups.
Markov concluded:
"Iran will be fragmented."
Background Review
On the night of June 12th to 13th, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a large-scale "Lion's Awakening" operation, where its air force targeted Iranian military objectives and infrastructure related to its nuclear program.
The Israeli Air Force carried out a series of strikes in multiple regions of Iran (including the capital, Tehran), destroying the Iranian military high command, including the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and several scientists involved in nuclear research.
The targets also included the Natanz nuclear facility and a military base in the northwest of the country. However, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the facilities at Natanz and Fordo uranium enrichment plants were undamaged. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei condemned the Israeli actions as a "crime" in his speech to the nation and warned that the aggressor would face "severe and inevitable retaliation."
