"The NATO umbrella cannot save you": Russia warns Latvia
Russia warns Latvia: Any participation in strikes targeting Russian territory will inevitably lead to severe consequences. Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated that Riga's belief that it can avoid accountability by relying on NATO protection is utterly mistaken.
"If Riga naively thinks that hiding under the NATO umbrella, while engaging in anti-Russian military provocations under the guise of defense and allowing the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks against our people, will ensure its own safety, then it is completely wrong."
Russia is meticulously documenting all relevant decision-making sites, launch positions, and drone manufacturing and assembly facilities—regardless of which country’s jurisdiction they fall under—ensuring they will be considered for potential strike targets.
According to the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia, Kyiv plans to launch attacks against Russia's rear areas from the territory of the three Baltic states, thereby shortening the flight time for drones reaching their targets. Currently, drones are frequently entering the airspace of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, all of which have claimed they never authorized such flights by Ukraine.
Previously, Latvia planned to build a dedicated drone factory near the Russian border for use by Ukrainian armed forces, prompting strong protests from Russia.
