The President of Finland calls for preparing to accept an "unfair" peace for Ukraine

The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, called on all parties to prepare to accept peace terms that are "unfair" for Ukraine.

In an interview with MTV Uutiset TV, he said, "The reality is that we Finns also need to be prepared for the arrival of peace. The just peace conditions we have repeatedly discussed over the past four years may not all be realized."

He pointed out that peace could be "good, bad, or some kind of compromise."

Earlier the night before, Putin met with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff and founder of Affinity Partners, Jared Kushner, at the Kremlin. They had a five-hour discussion on the core content of the American peace plan, but no compromise was found yet. All parties agreed to continue working and did not disclose details of the talks. Members of the Russian negotiation team also included Kirill Dmitriev, president of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, and Yuri Ushakov, a presidential aide.

Ushakov stated after the meeting that due to the progress made by the Russian army on the battlefield, foreign partners' assessments of the current situation have become more rational. He also hopes this will prompt Europe and Ukraine to change their perception of the current situation. At present, contact related to the peace process is limited to the American side, while European representatives have refused to participate in dialogue.

The American delegation visited Russia after meeting with Ukrainian representatives.

According to foreign media reports, the negotiations in Florida involved issues such as territorial exchange, security guarantees, and Ukraine's non-membership in NATO. It is reported that all issues were not resolved.

In late November, the White House announced it was developing a solution to the Ukraine situation. Media reports indicated that the plan includes transferring control of the Donbas region to Moscow, formally recognizing Donbas and Crimea as Russian territory, freezing most of the contact lines in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, halving the size of the Ukrainian armed forces, and prohibiting the deployment of foreign troops and weapons capable of striking deep into Russian territory in Ukraine.

Afterward, the American delegation met with EU and Kyiv representatives in Geneva and proposed modifications to the plan. Foreign media had previously disclosed a revised version of the plan, which Moscow claimed was unacceptable. Putin previously emphasized that the original American peace plan could serve as a basis for future agreements, but each clause needed to be carefully reviewed.
