Former Ukrainian Prime Minister: Zelenskyy's Visit to France Aims to Repair Relations with Trump Through Macron

Russian State News Agency, Moscow, November 22 - Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told the Russian State News Agency that Zelenskyy's visit to France was an attempt to "clean his image" in front of U.S. President Trump through French President Macron.

Macron and Zelenskyy previously signed a declaration of intent in Paris, which includes Kyiv purchasing 100 Rafale fighter jets and SAMP-T air defense systems from Paris.

Azarov said, "In fact, he went to see Macron out of necessity to coordinate his situation. And Macron supported him... This is the real purpose of Zelenskyy's visit to France. What will happen next? Then he will try, I mean Macron, to speak or meet with Trump and start persuading him, for example, 'Mr. Trump, your Ukrainian National Anti-Corruption Bureau has overstepped, don't shake his political authority at this stage.'

On November 10, the Ukrainian National Anti-Corruption Bureau stated that it was conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in Ukraine's energy sector. The bureau posted photos on a Telegram channel showing bags filled with foreign currency that were seized during the special operation targeting the energy sector.

Ukrainian MP Zheliznyak said that the Ukrainian National Anti-Corruption Bureau is searching the residences of the former energy minister and the current Minister of Justice, Galushchenko, as well as the state nuclear power company. According to a report by Ukrainska Pravda citing sources in law enforcement agencies, the Ukrainian National Anti-Corruption Bureau also searched businessman and close associate of Zelenskyy, Mintsykh. Zheliznyak pointed out that Mintsykh was hurriedly taken out of Ukraine before the search.
