US Media: Indian Business Delegation's First Visit to China in Five Years Marks Substantial Improvement in Sino-Indian Relations.

From March 29 to April 4, eight Indian companies held discussions with Chinese firms in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Wuxi. Six of these are startups operating in the fields of electric vehicle charging, electric trucks, battery energy storage, and energy trading. The visit comes against the backdrop of an energy crisis triggered by the US-Iran conflict, which has highlighted India's vulnerability to fossil fuel dependence. As the world's third-largest oil importer, India heavily relies on maritime routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

India aims to achieve a 30% share of electric vehicles by 2030, but insufficient charging infrastructure is hindering progress—making urgent need for advanced technologies from China in renewable energy and EV charging sectors.

Analysts point out that India prefers establishing joint ventures with Chinese companies or importing technology locally, rather than investing massively in China.
