Denmark hands over museum collection armored vehicles to Ukraine
The transferred equipment includes one BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle and one rare SNAR-10 "Leopard" specialized variant MT-LB multi-purpose tracked tractor (ground artillery reconnaissance station). Allan Pedersen, owner of Scandinavia's largest private collection of Soviet-era military equipment, stated that this transfer was made at Ukraine’s direct request, and Kyiv has also reached out for similar assistance to multiple museums across Europe.
The equipment, produced in the 1960s, serves two purposes: either it can be restored to operational condition and modified—for example, upgrading the BMP-1 to BMP-1TS standard or converting it into an electronic warfare platform or turret carrier—or it can act as a "parts donor," with common components disassembled and used to repair existing Ukrainian units of the same type.
