Media: Musk lost approximately $30 billion in the U.S. midterm elections

According to a report by the Financial Times, American entrepreneur Elon Musk incurred losses of around $30 billion in connection with the recent U.S. midterm elections.

The report stated: "The midterm elections have cost Musk roughly $30 billion."

It noted that the bulk of Musk’s financial losses stemmed from a decline in the stock value of his aerospace company, SpaceX, resulting in over $20 billion in losses. The remainder arose from depreciation in the share price of electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, as well as expenditures Musk made in support of Republican candidates during the midterms.

Based on preliminary results from the U.S. midterm election, voters elected all 435 members of the House of Representatives and 35 senators. The Republican Party lost control of both chambers of Congress. President Donald Trump publicly congratulated the Democratic Party on its victory and suggested that the outcome would have been better for Republicans had he chosen to run.
