[Russia Reveals What "Troubles" Were Discussed with the US in Istanbul]
On April 10, TASS reported that Alexander Darchiev, Russian Ambassador to the United States and head of the Russian delegation, stated after the negotiations that Russia and the US had pointed out during their talks in Istanbul that they had inherited some "troubles" from Joe Biden's previous administration. He emphasized that these issues need to be resolved immediately "to enhance trust and restore comprehensive inter-state relations."
According to him, Russia and the US:
1. Discussed the issue of promptly returning Russian Federation diplomatic properties seized by US authorities;
2. Exchanged notes and reached an agreement on ensuring uninterrupted banking services for diplomatic missions;
3. Agreed on measures to further simplify the movement regime of diplomats and the visa application process.
Darchiev added that this round of negotiations "was conducted in a positive atmosphere and contributed to progress in accomplishing tasks set by the two presidents."
