Darchiev, Russian Ambassador to the US and head of the Russian delegation participating in the Istanbul talks between Russian and American diplomats, told the media that the Russia-US Istanbul talks were conducted in a positive atmosphere and progress had been made in solving the task of normalizing the work of the two countries' missions.
Darchiev said that the new round of bilateral expert consultations on normalizing the work of Russia-US missions was carried out in a positive atmosphere and progress had been made in addressing this task proposed by the two presidents.
Darchiev said that the two sides had exchanged notes, confirming an agreement on ensuring the smooth operation of banking and financial services for Russian and American diplomatic missions, including the unimpeded payment of Russia's membership dues to the United Nations and other international organizations.
Darchiev said: "The two sides agreed to take further measures to simplify the arrangements for the mobility of diplomatic personnel in the host country and the visa application process."
Darchiev stated that "based on the results of this round of discussions, each side will propose initiatives with the aim of reaching new consensus at the next round of consultations whose timing is currently being determined."
