Denmark's Prime Minister: EU has no other options to solve Kyiv's financing issue except seizing Russian assets

Russian State News Agency, Moscow, October 08 - Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen admitted that if Russian assets are not seized, the EU has no other way to solve Ukraine's financing problem.

Frederiksen said in an interview with the Financial Times: "What other options are there? We should find a solution to the financing problem. If not this (seizing Russian assets), I haven't heard of any other solutions."

Previously, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz proposed in an article written for the Financial Times that frozen Russian assets could be used to provide Ukraine with a 140 billion euro interest-free loan.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stated that freezing Russian assets in Europe is an act of theft and pointed out that the EU targets not only private funds but also Russia's state assets. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that Moscow will respond to Western seizure of frozen Russian assets, and the Russian Federation also has the opportunity not to return funds held by Western countries in Russia.
