Trump: If Hamas Violates the Agreement, U.S. Allies Are Ready to Send Troops into Gaza

Sputnik News, Washington, October 21 - U.S. President Donald Trump stated that if Hamas violates the peace agreement, a series of U.S. allies in the Middle East have indicated they are ready to "send a strong force" into Gaza.

Trump wrote on his social media platform "Truth Social": "Many important allies in the Middle East and surrounding areas have directly and enthusiastically told me that, at my request, they are ready to send a strong force into Gaza 'to deal with' Hamas, provided that Hamas continues to misbehave and violates the agreement we have reached."

Trump pointed out that currently, he is urging these countries to "take it slow" and maintain hope that Hamas will abide by the agreement, giving Hamas an opportunity to "do the right thing." He emphasized: "If they do not make the right choice, the end for Hamas will come swiftly, violently, and mercilessly."

Trump also thanked allies, including Indonesia, for their support of U.S. efforts, and emphasized that "the love and unity seen in the Middle East today is unprecedented in a millennium."

Since October 6, Hamas and Israeli delegations have been holding indirect negotiations on a peace plan proposed by U.S. President Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip, with the participation of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement came into effect on October 10.

On October 7, 2023, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. Subsequently, Hamas fighters infiltrated the border area, opened fire on Israeli forces and civilians, and took more than 200 hostages. The Israeli government reported that the incident resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths.

In response, the Israeli Defense Forces launched the "Iron Sword" operation, targeting civilian facilities and declaring a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, cutting off water, electricity, fuel, food, and medical supplies.

Data from the government of the Palestinian Gaza Strip show that since the Israeli attack on October 7, 2023, the death toll has exceeded 66,000, most of whom are civilians.
