Two Chinese oil tankers successfully departed from Saudi Arabia

According to data from marine shipping apps, despite the Houthi rebels' ban on using Yanbu Port in the Red Sea, China's Cosnew Lake and Xin Long Yang oil tankers managed to leave the port.

Marinetraffic app data shows that the Cosnew Lake, flying the Hong Kong flag, departed Yanbu Port on the evening of July 20, when the Houthi rebels had already announced the start of a maritime blockade on Saudi ports. According to navigation maps, the vessel is now located in the Gulf of Aden, heading toward Somalia. The Xin Long Yang, flying the Singapore flag, is also following a similar route.

VesselFinder app data indicates that both vessels are returning to their Chinese owners.

The "Ansar Allah" movement (Houthis), which governs northern Yemen, announced on July 22 that it had attacked several Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, in response to Saudi violations of the order prohibiting Saudi maritime vessels and activities related to departure from Saudi ports. The Houthis also warned other countries not to use Saudi ports.
