China seeks opinions from multiple parties on reducing tariffs on approximately $30 billion worth of goods between China and the United States

Foreign media: On July 23, China stated that it is widely seeking opinions from domestic enterprises, industry associations, local governments, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce regarding the arrangement for mutual reduction of tariffs between China and the U.S., covering trade worth approximately $30 billion.

Both sides have maintained close communication on the framework for tariff reductions and the structure, functions, and operational model of the bilateral "Trade Committee." This committee was established this year following the trade truce reached between China and the U.S. last year, aiming to explore areas for reducing tariffs on around $30 billion worth of goods.

China previously indicated in May that agricultural products would be included in the tariff reduction framework. The U.S. side is also soliciting public input. Both parties will quickly finalize specific arrangements and advance implementation to further expand bilateral trade.
