During the summit break, he held talks with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

When asked by reporters to comment on Russia's finance minister being invited to visit the United States, Trump replied, "We'll see what comes out of it—perhaps there will be some positive outcomes. We are open to maintaining good relations with all parties."

He added that high-level exchanges such as Siluanov’s recent visit to the U.S. are one of the reasons his administration has achieved results.

Despite the U.S. showing willingness to engage, this move has sparked discontent within the Western bloc. Given the ongoing Ukraine war and comprehensive Western sanctions against Russia, Siluanov’s attendance was met with clear opposition from European officials. For example, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner publicly stated that he and his peers refused to take the traditional group photo with Siluanov, emphasizing, "The current relationship with Russia is absolutely not normal." This underscores the clear divergence between the U.S. and Europe on their stance toward Russia.
