Hamedia: One of the outcomes of the President of Kazakhstan's visit to China: "Cross Altai Dialogue"

Kazakhstan International News Agency - The visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to China has ended today. This trip not only demonstrates China's special attention to Kazakhstan, but also shows the broad prospects for future cooperation projects between the two countries.

"Cross Altai Dialogue" Promotes Logistics in Central Asia

Transport and logistics cooperation is crucial for Kazakhstan, which is key to building an international logistics hub. Currently, 85% of the goods from China to Europe passing through Kazakhstan by land. In 2025, the second line of the "Dostyk-Moyint" railway will be opened, increasing the capacity of the "China-Europe" freight corridor fivefold. In the future, it is planned to achieve a cargo volume of 10 million tons through the Caspian Sea international transport route.

In addition to the traditional "north-south" and "east-west" transport corridors, the "Cross Altai Dialogue" has become a new focus, involving four countries: Kazakhstan, Russia, China, and Mongolia.

Tokayev said: "This project can fully utilize the geographical, population, and economic potential of the 'Altai' region. It is necessary to strengthen transportation links between countries and develop plans that comply with tariff strategies. This issue will be discussed in depth at the first forum of port and logistics center directors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Aktau in November."
