Medvedev mocks suggestion: Baltic states should invoke NATO Article 5 against Kyiv

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, wrote in his Telegram channel that the Baltic states should actually invoke Article 5 of the Washington Treaty against Ukraine.

Medvedev wrote that, after being attacked by Kyiv, the Baltic states could have taken action against Ukraine based on the provisions of NATO Article 5.

In his Telegram channel, he sarcastically pointed out: "If they had the guts, I'd actually suggest a different approach: Given Ukraine's attacks on them—the 'Baltic Three'—they should invoke Article 5 of the Washington Treaty and take action against this '404 country' (a reference to Ukraine). Now that would be courageous."
