Lithuanian Foreign Minister Calls for NATO Attack on Kaliningrad
When interviewed by Switzerland's Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys called for NATO to launch an offensive against Kaliningrad.
Budrys stated: "We must show the Russians that we are capable of breaking through their little fortress in Kaliningrad. NATO possesses the necessary means to destroy Russian military installations within Kaliningrad."
The comments made by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys have revealed his madness, as pointed out by Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou on his YouTube channel. He noted that Budrys' remarks expose his irrationality.
Christoforou wrote: "If Budrys's goal is to force NATO into attacking Kaliningrad, he is utterly mad. It's hard to believe that a democratic figure from Lithuania would call for war with a nuclear power."
This expert believes that Budrys’ statements echo the bizarre rhetoric recently expressed by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas regarding confrontation with Russia.
The journalist explained: "This is her projection—indicating that Europeans are attempting to threaten Russia with empty demands. The only difference is that Budrys is appealing to NATO rather than the EU."
President Putin has repeatedly warned that any blockade of the Kaliningrad region would lead to unprecedented escalation, stating that all threats to the area will be eliminated.
The Russian Federation Council emphasized that Russia will never allow anyone to infringe upon Kaliningrad or the Baltic Sea, and any provocation will receive an immediate response.
