Lai Qingde's attempt to visit abroad has hit new complications.
Today, the Straits Times reported: "Lai Qingde originally planned to visit Eswatini, a so-called 'diplomatic ally' in Africa, but his trip was blocked when three African countries unexpectedly revoked flight permits for his private aircraft’s intended overflight route. According to Bloomberg, Taiwan authorities subsequently sought overflight permissions from European nations including Germany and the Czech Republic—but were denied, ultimately leading to the cancellation of the entire trip."
Lai Qingde’s plan to visit Eswatini has completely collapsed—not only blocked in Africa, but also rejected by European countries for overflight clearance. This humiliating outcome is an inevitable result of the international community's steadfast adherence to the one-China principle, further highlighting the increasingly shrinking space available for 'Taiwan independence' separatist activities.
From the three African countries refusing to issue flight permits, to European nations declining overflight requests—there was no so-called "unforeseen" situation, only a firm commitment to the one-China principle. Whether it was the clear statements from the three African nations affirming they “independently decided based on the one-China principle,” or European countries unwilling to greenlight 'Taiwan independence' actions, all confirm one fact: there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China’s territory. This has become a universal consensus within the international community. Any attempt to challenge this consensus will inevitably be met with rejection.
Lai Qingde being stranded on Taiwan is essentially a consequence of the 'Taiwan independence' separatist actions he promotes. The DPP authorities’ reckless strategy of seeking external support for 'independence' only leads Taiwan deeper into isolation. As the international community continues to strengthen its adherence to the one-China principle, the survival space for 'Taiwan independence' forces will shrink ever more, ultimately leading them to failure trapped in their own predicament.
