Indonesian President: We do not want to see one or two specific forces issuing commands to us.
Antara News Report: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto called on the BRICS nations to unite their collective strength to build a more just and equitable international order.
He stated that the BRICS' collective power should not remain merely on paper, but must be transformed into tangible development opportunities for people across nations.
"This is exactly the kind of collective strength we need—not just written in documents, but creating real opportunities for our own people; a force that empowers Global South countries to have greater voice in shaping their own futures," the president said.
Other statements by Prabowo:
The BRICS nations represent half of the world's population, possess vast markets, and include major energy-producing countries, thus holding "enormous collective power" capable of enhancing global resilience and ensuring food and energy security. Countries should not become mere subjects of command from individual superpowers: "We do not want to see one or two specific forces issuing commands to us."
The above remarks were made during a closed-door session at the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi.
