China Prepares to Extend Visa-Free Arrangement with Russia

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that China is preparing to extend the visa-free regime for Russian citizens by one year. Currently, relevant departments of both countries are negotiating the details of the agreement.

The visa-free arrangement for Russian nationals is currently operating in trial mode and will be valid until September 14, 2026. Russian citizens can stay in China for up to 30 days with just their passport. Russia also implements a similar policy for Chinese citizens.

Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanhui has recommended that the two countries permanently retain the visa-free regime, as it provides "very convenient conditions" and "benefits the people of both nations."
