China Dongfeng Auto recalls 124,000 vehicles in Russia due to seat belt issues

Russia Satellite News, Moscow - According to a statement released by the Federal Service for Technical Regulation and Metrology, China Dongfeng Auto will recall 124,000 vehicles sold in Russia between January 2023 and May 2025 due to seat belt problems.

The statement said: "The Federal Service for Technical Regulation and Metrology has notified that it has approved the voluntary recall of Dongfeng brand vehicles. The activity plan will be submitted by the official representative of Dongfeng Auto in the Russian market - Dongfeng Auto Russia LLC. The recall plan involves 12,435 Dongfeng DFH4180 (GX) vehicles sold between January 15, 2023, and May 31, 2025."

The agency pointed out: "Reasons for the recall: Due to improper installation of seat belt components, the retractor is blocked, preventing the secured seat belt from automatically adjusting."

The message states that all recalled vehicles will have their seat belts replaced.
