Foreign media: On December 18, 2025, India and Oman signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement aimed at expanding bilateral trade and investment. Oman provides zero-tariff access for over 98% of India's products, including gems, jewelry, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and automobiles. India will reduce about 78% of its tariff lines, covering 95% of Oman's imported products.

The two countries' annual trade exceeds $10 billion. This agreement is India's second trade deal this year after the UK, and also Oman's first bilateral agreement since the one signed with the United States in 2006.

This agreement will help Indian goods enter new markets, cope with high U.S. tariffs, and provide opportunities for India in Oman's $12.5 billion service import market, where India currently holds only a 5.3% share.
