According to Japanese media reports, China's leading food delivery company Meituan announced on August 20 that its global brand "Keeta" has launched services in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Keeta's expansion into the Middle East is the second country after Saudi Arabia.

Keeta will launch services in Saudi Arabia in September 2024. It offers new customer exclusive free shipping and discounts, and achieved rapid growth in a short period of time. According to data from consulting firm Redseer, Keeta captured approximately 10% market share within five months of launching its service, rising to the third position in the industry. On March 29, 2025, it announced that the service area would be expanded from the existing 9 cities (including the capital Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, etc.) to 20 cities.

In Saudi Arabia, Meituan's global version of its online supermarket "Xiaoxiang Supermarket" has also entered the market. "Keemart" will start operations in two areas of Riyadh in May 2025.

Meituan announced its "Middle East Market Three-Year Plan" at the beginning of 2025, stating its intention to expand Keeta to all six Gulf Cooperation Council member states in the next three years. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait have already started recruiting local employees and merchants.

Keeta entered Hong Kong in May 2023, becoming a test of globalization. In the following 24 months, it gained a 44% market share, becoming a leader in the industry. In March 2025, the UK company Deliveroo announced its withdrawal from Hong Kong, with some assets being taken over by German Foodpanda. Currently, Keeta's only competitor in Hong Kong is Foodpanda.
