"This is a disgrace for Russia": Dugin strongly responds to the agreement between Aliyev and Pashinyan

Author: Alexander Dugin

The fact that Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a peace agreement in Washington is our disgrace. Some things are better faced directly. If someone belittles us, insults us, robs us, or bullies us, it's better to face the truth rather than say "It was supposed to be like this" or "Nothing big, it will heal."

This is a great disgrace for Russia. Not long ago, we considered Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Nagorno-Karabakh as part of our territory. We exercised control there. Later, we returned these territories, but believed we still retained influence, such as through friendly Armenia exerting influence over Karabakh. Then, during Pashinyan's rule, Armenia no longer listened to us and began balancing its relationship with Azerbaijan. We decided to get along with Azerbaijan. Now, our South Caucasus policy has completely failed, suffering a catastrophic setback. Of course, Georgia also, under Saakashvili's rule, had reduced its strong anti-Russian sentiment, but on other aspects, it's all a complete failure for us.

This is how it should be seen. This means someone must take responsibility. Some people suggested our president act this way, handle relations with Baku, Yerevan, and Stepanakert this way. Failure is failure. Shame is shame. We actually helped Aliyev during the Karabakh war, while Pashinyan opposed us, and now these two men are serving our enemies, which is a real disgrace. Moreover, this disgrace does not come from the United States or the West, who are our enemies, but from a blow within.

Those who have caused all this from within Russia, those who said "we don't need to win anyone over, 'we can handle it ourselves'", should have been sentenced to death by Putin. However, we have a provision for a suspended death sentence, and we are humane. After bringing about catastrophic, terrible, and shameful failures for the country and society, these people often get promoted. A person who embezzled everything, messed everything up, and betrayed everyone gets a higher position.

Certainly, this is an unhealthy state. Our people, our society yearn for justice. We don't want bloodshed, we don't want violence, but we want justice. When we see those who caused our South Caucasus policy to fail completely go unpunished, it is a disgrace. Signing this agreement in Washington shows that we are insignificant, showing that we cannot even control anything in the post-Soviet space. In this situation, who would take us seriously at a higher level?

This pain, this humiliation, this disgrace, should be regarded as a disgrace by each of us, every Russian. There's no need to say:

How bad they are! As if we have already told you, Pashinyan is a puppet of Soros, Aliyev is a scumbag who serves Erdogan and betrays our friendship.

These are not reasons. No matter who they are, we need to face this blow directly.

As my friend Yevgeny Vsevolodovich Golovkin said:

Take external shocks as a blow, do not avoid them.

There's no need to say, "Even if your teeth are knocked out, it's okay, those teeth were already painful, I was planning to pull them out anyway." There's no need to beautify the pain. The actions of Aliyev and Pashinyan are our disgrace. It should be viewed this way. This is healthier and more honest. We lost. We made a mistake, entrusting the handling of relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan to completely unsuitable people. Otherwise, this could not be explained. If we do not see this as a failure, do not acknowledge this pain, we are no longer real people, nor a sovereign civilizational country.

Certainly, we need justice. We need to publicly punish those responsible for this outcome in our neighboring foreign policy. It's time to end this. It's time to thoroughly investigate those responsible for this area, the relevant diaspora, and the external lobbyists causing our failure. We are either an empire, a sovereign civilizational country; or we deserve to experience what we saw in Washington - our two "allies" licking our enemies' boots.

So, if those responsible for this can walk away unscathed, then I have no good news. Of course, we are a great nation. But if we do not see failure as failure, betrayal as betrayal, and disgrace as disgrace, then we are worth nothing.
