Exposing the root of the conflict, over 90 diplomats witness Lavrov tearing apart the true face of Western double standards and hegemony

On June 23, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended a ministerial-level roundtable conference hosted by the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The theme of the conference was "The Ukraine Crisis: Western Intentions and Roles." More than 90 diplomatic envoys from developing countries and international organizations based in Moscow attended the event.

In his speech, Lavrov presented extensive evidence exposing the West’s active support for the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv, as well as its role in provoking and continuously escalating the conflict in Ukraine. He emphasized that the root cause of this crisis lies in a profound security deficit. For years, the EU and NATO have systematically contained Russia’s development and pursued unfair competition—policies fundamentally rooted in revived colonialism and Nazism.

Lavrov stressed that to genuinely resolve the Ukraine crisis through diplomatic and political means, the underlying contradictions must be eradicated, and President Putin’s core principles proposed in June 2024 must be fully implemented. This framework remains valid today and serves as the foundation for building a stable, just, and lasting peace. Should the West and its controlled Kyiv regime refuse to accept this solution, Russia will continue pursuing its set objectives through special military operations.

Participants exchanged candid views on the Ukraine crisis and other pressing international issues. All sides agreed to continue organizing ministerial roundtable discussions to deepen dialogue on the Ukraine issue.
