According to reports by the Russian satellite news agency and the Associated Press, on June 13 local time, Russian President Putin held separate telephone conversations with leaders of Israel and Iran respectively, urging for the easing of tensions.

The Kremlin released a statement on the same day stating that Putin condemned Israel's attacks on Iran, considering such actions as violating the Charter of the United Nations and international law. He expressed condolences to the leadership and people of Iran regarding the significant casualties caused by Israeli air strikes.

Iranian President Pezeshkizadeh told Putin that Tehran will respond appropriately to Israel's attacks.

In his phone call with Netanyahu, Putin stated that the Iranian nuclear issue should be "addressed solely through political and diplomatic means," calling on both sides to return to the negotiating table, with Russia willing to assist in preventing further escalation of the situation.

The statement reiterated that Russia is committed to resolving issues related to the Iranian nuclear program peacefully. The Russian side will continue to maintain contact with Iran and Israel in order to ease tensions.
