Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov: Russia Invites the United States to Discuss the Security System

On December 29, 2025, at night Moscow time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov answered questions in an interview with the Russian State News Agency:

A security system needs to be established. In this regard, we issued an appropriate invitation to the United States in September. We believe that the starting point of the discussion could be the treaty draft submitted by our country to Washington and the capitals of European countries for consideration in December 2021. Any security guarantee should be based on the principle of indivisibility of security, which is contained in the consensus documents of the 1999 Istanbul and 2010 Astana OSCE summits.
